After graduating from UC Davis, I began working in social media and digital marketing. I’ve worked with startups to publicly traded companies, and realized that everyone wants the same thing. Attention. Over the past 8 years, I’ve helped brands stand out in a very noisy digital world.
I’ve spent my entire digital marketing career building someone else’s dream. In late 2015, I decided it was time to start pursuing my own dreams. I left my fancy title, comfortable salary, and corporate job behind. I’ve painted my entire life, but never relied on my art to support myself. That all changed during a trip to Barcelona, Spain in early 2016.
I fell in love with the street art and graffiti culture in Barcelona. Fortunately, my hostel was next door to an art supply store. I began cutting stencils on the rooftop of my hostel by day, and painting in the streets at night.
When I returned to the US, the painting never stopped. I converted part of a barn into a painting studio, and haven’t looked back since!
During the summer of 2016, I launched a project called “90 Days to MOMA” where I spent 90 days working to get my art into San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA). I hired an epic videographer to move in with me and film the journey. We published one short film every day — for 90 days straight. It was intense AF. You can watch the episodes here.
I primarily paint portraits using stencils and spray paint, but am starting to explore other mediums. My favorite artists are Shepard Fairey and Andy Warhol, and can see their influence in my own work. I admire both their art and their marketing abilities.
My art is currently living on the walls of Vayner Media, Hawke Media, Waterfront Ventures, OneNine, and private collections in the US, Canada, Spain, and Switzerland.
